Dear Members of the Eastern Region,
As I embark on my second term as Vice President, I am deeply honored to serve alongside Regional Director Deborah Thornton and Local Director Maxine Spence. Together, it has been our privilege to represent the 20 Eastern Region Clubs and to work with our dedicated committee chairs, Treasurer, and Secretary. These core team members are integral to our collective success.
Our primary goal is to collaborate with our member clubs to rebuild and strengthen our snowsports community for the future. We aim to leverage technology, industry connections, and expertise to grow our regional organization. Equally important is our commitment to support, cooperate with, and integrate each member club's unique strengths and needs.
We are at a pivotal moment, defining who the NBS and our clubs are. Our mission is to work closely with each club to revitalize and rejuvenate, attracting the next generation of snowsports leaders and participants. By supporting each other and mapping out our future plans, we can achieve remarkable success.
Looking ahead, we will build on our Summerfest Trip and Early Season Warmup Trip, and revitalize the Winterfest Trip for 2025. We will expand our current Youth Outreach grants program while growing our partnership with the Winter4Kids Weekend ski program. Additionally, four clubs in our region are participating in the E4E program, in collaboration with the national office.
We are also excited about the newly established Eastern Region Foundation, which aims to create regular revenue streams through grant writing and other fundraising efforts. The Foundation’s goal is to raise funds to support the Eastern Region and its sponsored youth programs. We believe this initiative will significantly contribute to our future success.
Our organization is actively reforming, revising, and repurposing for the future, while maintaining our rich traditions and history. The Eastern Region of the National Brotherhood of Snowsports is poised to lead the way for our member clubs, supporting our communities within the snowsports world.
This is a significant undertaking, and it requires the contributions of leadership, each club, and every volunteer. Your time, ideas, energy, effort, and financial support are crucial to our success. We value your voice and vote, and our team is eager to hear from you.
The future starts today. Maxine, Deborah, and I, along with our entire team, are grateful for the trust you have placed in us. We are committed to working hard to ensure the longevity and success of our organization.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication.
Warm regards,
Sean Cottman Vice President
Eastern Region National Brotherhood of Snowsports
