ABOUT OUR YOUTH

A Team


Application for the A Team will be open to those skiers or snowboarders aged 12-20 (birth years 1996 – 2004), with one-year racing or competition experience. There are performance guidelines associated with each birth year.

B Team


Application for the B Team will be open to those skiers or snowboarders aged 11-14 (birth years 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005) who are currently racing or competing. There are no minimum performance criteria, however scholarship money will only be given to those who actually participate in USSA races during the season and are participating in a season long training program.

Development Team


The Development Team is open to snowboarders and skiers ages 8-12 (birth years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009. Prior racing experience is not necessary. Scholarship money will be given only to those who participate in a season long training program.

The Eastern Region Youth Program consists of A & B teams, a Development Team and a Youth Outreach component.

Scholarship assistance is available to A, B and Development team members. Financial assistance is avaialble to clubs with Youth Outreach members.

Enrollment in the respective programs is aged dependent. Age is determined as of December 31, 2017.

Requirements

  • MUST BE AGE 8, 9, 10, 11, OR 12 FOR THE 2016-2017 SKI-SEASON. (BIRTH YEARS 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 AND 2005.)
  • MUST BE A MEMBER OF A NBS EASTERN REGION SKI CLUB
  • MUST FILE THE COMPLETED APPLICATION BY APRIL 15, 2017 – RECEIVED – NOT POSTMARKED
  • MUST BE A SKIER OR A SNOWBOARDER
  • APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE PRESIDENT OR YOUTH DIRECTOR ON A LOCAL NBS CLUB OR REQUEST AND APPLICATION BY EMAIL FROM THE REGIONAL YOUTH DIRECTOR RICHAR WARD AT ERYOUTH@NBSER.ORG.
  • ALL DEVELOPMENT TEAM MEMBERS WHO WERE MEMBERS OF ANY EASTERN REGION TEAM IN ANY PRIOR YEAR MUST RACE IN 2016 – 2017 TO RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE.

YOUTH CHAPTER (Youth Outreach)

Reimbursement

  • OPEN TO YOUTH AGES 5 -16
  • NOT AVAILABLE FOR ER TEAM MEMBERS
  • EACH REGISTERED CLUB CAN RECEIVE UP TO $ 75.00 FOR EACH YOUTH IN THE APPLICABLE AGE GROUP FOR ELIGILE EXPENSES THE CLUB INCURS IN THE ABOVE LISTED CATEGORIES.

Registration

Registration deadline is March 31, 2017 (no exceptions) and the registration is good from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2018. The following information is required for Youth Chapter registration:
